National Day!

First of all, I would like to extend a very very warm greeting.

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!!!!!

Haha..It was fun. I went to the carnival at Yishun with Val. We walk all the way to the place.
The place is severely cordoned off and lotsa guys in uniform. Juz hate to c them in uniforms.
The carnival was more of a display of the various divisions of the SAF. U have the Infantry, Logistics, Communications n Engineers. Some of the field is wet and Val wondered if they had some demostrationsgoing on earlier that make use of water.

Surprise! Surprise! Kids actually crowded around the IPPT tent.
Why??
Coz there are candies!! haha....old treat for kids but they still love them anyway. No matter how clever they are, they are still kids at heart!
The Army guys had their fair share of laughter watching kids jumped the standing broad jump, shuttle run n the pull-ups.
Oh....by the way, Val actually mentioned that one of the army guys at the standing broad jump station is quite cute. Have to agree to it grudgingly. I dun like mens in uniforms. Juz instant dislike! Dun ask me why!

The next attraction with kids is the ammunition. The SAR21, the short range launcher, the truck rifles...had kids using and climbing up. There is a guy in full combat field gear with his face painted green around.wonder if his face itched all putting up the make-up for the whole day.

Next is the firworks.
The fireworks was above my head. It is so glam! N nice. Though it leaves a lingering smell of explosives. Everyone was screaming and shouting. haha...I did my fair share too.
The sight of golden wheat thrown into air, the swirling brilliance, the golden multicolour rays of fireworks all lit up the otherwise boring nightscape of Yishun.
All u can see people crowding in the few top floors of the HDB flats around the field. Juz like pigeons. haha....

As we walk our way home, we stop again as I remembr the truck n the artillary are coming round. So we waited near the big road again!
I mentioned to Val that it seems like the old movie flick of Hitler where the army had a victory in war n its people in Berlin are rushing to welcome the them back, waving their hands n flags.
It was totally cool. The army guys in green are waving like mad but some keep their cool n not wave.

We headed our way back! Such a nice nite!!
