hmmmm.....yawnz......so deadtired after yday nite....I went back to Yj for the show...
caught up wif mu work that i missed the time to mit Val, she was very very pissed off by me....for fang fei ji and never tell her....haiz...I was in a mess lah....anyway, I was told of the wrong time and we went early lor..mit Mr Tan, our CCS ex teacher i/c and present chinese HOD.We chat lor..he ask where are we and wat course we are taking...then crap a bit into how bad the biz are and so on..hehehe...we din have much to tok to him......
then mit meiyi and she couldnt enter from back gate true to Val's prediction, she had to walk round the sch to get into the main gate..on her way, she was sniffed by a big dog..and she was scared stiff.....but the owner keeping assuring her it is ok...hehehe
I mit a lot of frenz but seniors, same batch and juniors like Deren, tengda, Huiyi, Minlin, Junming,Peiyan,Shuhui, Lavina,Xiaoqi n beau, Huimin,Chuzhen,Dawn......hehehee.....
Alot of pple came to attend the show including the AMK GRC member of Parliament, Dr Tan Boon Wan ( if i am not mistaken), Lim Nee Soon's granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Jiemin's kids, Yishun town's busload of teen and a group of elderly. Not forgetting our teachers including Ms Chung, ET, the bio tutor,PE head and the bald OM. The new Principal was so LKK and a traditionalist, picky old lady that i instantly disliked her. Of course, the Mr Yang, chinese techer from HCJC who directed the show.
On the whole, the show is like kid's play. Waste of $$$ even wif the publicity. The standdard is not there....haiz...sad case..I had to keep myself awake by spotting errors....here b6 listed the errors...
1. The script not closely knitted and too lax...bits and pics...too much like
snapshot...doesnt explore the main character clearly. No "peak" in the drama...all
thaz to that Mr Yang...who claim to have researched thoroughly and have
participated in drama b4.
2. The Actors do not have enuff properly training. Too soft, not audilble; physical
movements rigid...not confident enuff, does put emotion in the way they say their
lines, doesnt show sign of the aged character that they are playing, Swallowed
their lines...I din koe that sick pple and old pple can move and speak without any
difficulty...oh that William Tay's english accent doesnt sound english enuff...half of
the time duno wat he saying...Plz look at Hugh Grant....
3.Props. the background props is simple i can understand so as not to clutter the
whole stage. But when it is cast in the context that workers have juz finish tapping
rubber, how could they stay so clean..surely they must have a few splatter of
rubber latex.....haiz....
4. Makeup. The old and aged dun even have grey hair how amazing.....the Lim Nee
Soon character look like Bangladashi to me.....so dark foundation....
5.Audio and lights. It is ok for most parts except when it shone on the props pple
accidentally on 1 scene wic not supposed to. The audio so soft....how to hear..I
was onli awake during the Opera scene where live orchestra play the
music....haiz......
6. MC.....supposedly to help creat a "peak" oso but her tone of voice so
normal....even when introducing distinguished guests...her pronounciation damn
fantastic lor....haiz......swallow words somemore....
If all the above have happend on the 1st nite, I would have been more lenient...but the final showdown is like that kinda depressing....the potential is there for the actors but the script not well written.Compared to the previous two shows that i was involved in.....the standard drop enormously......horrifying.....One thing to commend maybe the coordination spirit is there and pple's morale is high....so much for $6....
