Just saw an article where a resort in Japan cater to the young male Japanese a resort where they can holiday with a virtual and non-existent girlfriend.
Such reflect the extent of how technology has impacted on the lives of people. There is no longer a clear distinction between what is real and what is not. People pour out their feelings and emotions to technological products which are considered an dead object without expressing it on other humans. I wonder if this is a form of avoidance between humans so much so people would rather talk to technology than to face a real human. They may want to reduce frictions between humans, the negative emotions that comes from communication.
But such also affected the society on a social level. According to the Census of Japan, their birth rates have been declining rapidly so much so they are an Aged society. The emphasis on the use of technology in society it seems have affected the lifestyles of Japanese. I wonder how the Japanese Government is going to rectify this.
