New CD intro

Well, I am recommending a singer cum actor from China.
This may sounds weird afterall I am in Singapore, how can I get to know then singer from China. All thanks to Internet!
This guy is super talented. Well if you think you have seen too much guys who can act but cant sing, you have mit your match.
What more, if you have a liking for slow, lazy jazz songs, and you dun mind to listen them in chinese. Here is another additional point to y you must listen to it.
It is a very unique cd album.
Fill u more on this guy, Chen Kun (陈坤). He is tall and he is shuai. Pluz he can sing and act. Multi-faceted actor from China. If you 1 to see his drama, u can try to source out for VCDs like "凤阳花鼓"(starring him and Zeng Bao Yi).
Very nice songs, fall in love with his slow and sensual voice. very soothing.
I hope I can find this cd soon leh. hehe..Very nice wor....
Can I get this CD as my Birthday present instead of a dress?
Even if I have no choice, can I choose my own dress?haiz..LAst resort that I hate to use it man.
Here is a cover of the album.

Joe Cheng Craze

Wat I can say right now is that the charm of Joe Cheng is not to be underestimated.

In case u duno who he is, the picture on left is him.
I view the Chinese pop drama "The Rose" with some skepticism. Val insisted that it is good and she is kind enough to lend me the whole series' vcd.
At first, I was like oh gosh, what kinda series is this? Then as I view on, duno if it was me being bored at this stage or wat u call as "同情心过盛", I start to like the character "Kuei" or translated literally as "sunflower" portrayed by Joe Cheng. Worse still, I start to get charmed by the natural talent flair and the onscreen charisma of Joe Cheng. He is realli talented I must say for a greenhorn.
Then I start to like the soundtrack of this series. I must say quite a few songs are nice. as I will introduce to u.
"Yao Lan Qu" by Power Station.
I have more or less favour Power Station over the years and with this song, it is strange that I din recognise their voice. Maybe I am too engrossed with the series's plot.hehe. A must listen one thought u think it may drive u to sleep. hehehe...dun worry, u wun. In fact u may cry after it.
"Yezi" by A-Sang
This series has made another female singer famous. A-Sang's a bit raspy voice portrayed this "沧桑"feel quite well. After u have seen the MV of this song starring Joe Cheng and Selina of S.H.E, u will again feel ur tear tap running profusely.hehe...I am a sucker for this kind of things right now.
"The rose" by A-Sang
The only english song in this whole series coz our dear male lead is an Ang-Moh. Quotes his sister, " I sing this song to make u sleep coz this is the only english song I know and then you are the english-speaking kid who only knows english."
haha......I laugh out loud at that.
Yeah...that's all for now. While Let me continue my 3sec heated craze with the series b4 I let go.

Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji 3

2nd day of sore body and aches. I am trying to bear with the pain but seems like a bit..hehe...too difficult.

Let me share with you my views on the new season of Emergency Room 24 Hr (the Japanese name is on top as my title).

A title shot of the show

Another picture of the lead characters in Season 3.

This series is believed to be the Japanese answer to American version of "E.R" series. As Japanese is known to be abled to localise foreign product to fit into their culture, this perception is not alien.

But this series has this uniqueness which I am not denying, and it is realli good even though you dun see the American version as they are based in totally different settings altogether

Initially, I had this negative perception about this new season as I dun like the cast. They have practically changed everyone except Eguchi Yosuke. As you may have guessed, I am a staunch fan of the second series with the smoldering chemistry between Dr Shindo (Eguchi) and Heart Specialist (Matsuyuki Yasuko). So since there is no chemistry between Eguchi and Matsushima Nanako, I hate a bit. But since I have done a research on it, I might as well take a second look at the drama again.

I must say, the plot and the setting is very very fantastic even though the cast has changed. An inspiring storyline there, with reflection on the history of Tokyo.

Tokyo as a cosmopolitan city and certainly a global one, depends very very much on its status as a global city. Since the Shogunate Era, it is aredi one of the more established city in Japan. But it has withstand a certain number of disasters since then. One of which is the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake that hit Tokyo and other areas. This earthquake totally destroyed Tokyo's aredi crowded, divided areas -- Yamanote and Shitamachi. The division can still be seen today. This earthquake changed the structure of Tokyo and raise the awareness of the potential of earhtquake in Tokyo. The neccessary precautions and the emergency plans must be there since Tokyo now is an important base for a lot of TNMCs and so on. Anything happened there could be disasterous.

Rubbles everywhere during the 1923 Earthquake.

Houses are down like paper houses, killing a lot of people, resulting in massive losses

I think this show must have done the research on this. and Again bring on the awareness that may have waned over the years.

Great show that u must watch. I still think that I have a lingering tendency to give myself a reason to convince me to watch the show. hehe

If anyone of you are interested in the comparison studies of "E.R." and this "kyumei Byoto 24 Ji", can ask me for the copy of my group research paper.hehe

Pain in the entire hand till back

Wah.....hand is hurting sia..cant even wash myself properly. It is Badminton day and I was looking fwd to a relaxing day when Cowsy brought along her colleague, Wei Li.(correct me if I am wrong)

This guy is very very expert at Badminton. Mind u, I din have Warm-ups which is bad. And I lack of the stamina for the entire 2hr game. Darn, He's good and I feel I must be up to his level even bare minimum. That's y I endure the whole game with pain now.

Yeah,I know I am very very stubborn. But I can help it, I'll switch to auto gear to rise to the challenge. hehe.

Now I get the consequence. Haiz. Wonder how to play mahjong tml.

By the way, I was being aimed by him and his shuttlecock. This is the 1st time I am being aimed instead of me aimed at people.

Haiz....Getting old.

Games anyone??

Yeah, I know I havent been updating a fair bit so here I am updating.

Have been quite busy going out, sponging off my mum I guess. Yeah...

Then went to the library and planning for quite a few things like badminton games with my sisters. Hehehe...my hands are very very itchy. Yeah..very....Guess I miss the times when I have to train with my teammates. Very precious moments indeed.

Yeah, Had been missing games lah, like ....erm....Rounders, Basketball, Captain's ball, netball, squash, running 2.4 km (u may think I am siao), swimming and badminton.

Yeah, I am the crazy gal who loves the game but no 1 wants to play with me and I mind getting dark-skin. A tad too lazy to exercise though I like the games. hehehe

Very confusing isnt it? Well, that is me. I dun 1 to paint a very beautiful picture of myself. But Life afterall is full of conflicting choices isnt it?

Oh, by the way, I made another round of buns again. This time more like the ones that are being sold outside but I think the dough too wet liao...I will kip trying...hahaha

Experience

Yesterday, I went out with my sisters, Val and Cowsy. I had some troubles that weighed heavily on my heart. Some questions that I have no answers. I tot of the things that have been happening and changing. I wondered to myself why people have to make changes that they dun wished to?

Then we went to find some clothes for Val and some trinkets for other 2 sisters. Thier birthdays coming. hehehe....

The answers finally dawned on me. People may make changes to themselves becoz of others and surrounding. Even if you dun like the change, people and environment will force it upon you that leaves you no choice but to submit. A horrible and unsatisfying conclusion that I've drawn, nonetheless too realistic.

These changes as I found out include, perception of weight and body shape, body hairs and so on.

Back to today, I had a rough day with making pau. yeah the chinese "meat bun". My mum think that my culinary skills too limited so decide to "punish" me for it....

My guinea pig aka my brot that egotistical tester, kip on rejecting my stuff, complaining here and there. I was rather pek chek by it lor. So I vent all my anger into the dough. Hahahaa...It works better this time, edible lah..but still lack in sumthing that I haven figure it out...lah..

Dad is rather supportive. He kips sum for tml's breakfast. hehehehe....

Dun worry, sisters. I will come up with sumthing better...hehehehe...potential guinea pigs...

Quiz!!

Catherine The Great
You scored 51% on ruling power!
You are: Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia. 1729-1796. Ambitious and intelligent, Catherine arrived in Russia from Germany in 1744 to marry the 16 year old Grand Duke Peter. His unpopularity allowed her to depose him, orchestrate his death, and proclaim herself sole ruler of Russia. Considering herself a ruler in line with enlightenment ideas, she supported progressive ideas, such as reforms in law, education, and provincial and municipal administration. But she ruled as an autocrat and suppressed Polish nationalists, which led to Poland's partition, and took the Crimea and parts of the Black Sea coast from Turkey.

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

The short strip

It still has its strengths but I hate the ending lah. A lot of conspiracy theories embedded into 1 another. Very mind boogling but very visually satisfying at the same time.

Official poster of the show

The fashion statement made by Ma Siu Leng and her daughter, Kong Tin Ya, is very very fanciful.

Here is a joke I am particularly fond of

Now that we have a national instrument a merlion-shaped one....It is creative but nonetheless a bit weird in shape for an intrument. But nice attemp to shape something new that is significant to us. After all, National Identity needs to be created by people. Though some may not agree to it.
It spark my interest as to how much I know about Singapore. Here is a joke of it then. Enjoy.

The Singapore Spirit!

1.NATIONAL EXCUSE FOR HAIR LOSS: Maggi Mee.

2. NATIONAL EXCUSE FOR BEING LATE: Traffic Jam.

3. NATIONAL CONDOM: None. Most Asians still feel embarrassed buying condoms. So they rush into a Seven-Eleven, grab the nearest pack, anybrand also can, pay and leave before the cashier can even blink an eye

4. NATIONAL FRUIT FOR INDUCING MENSTRUATION: Pineapple

5. NATIONAL APHRODISIAC DRINK: Stout. Many swear by it. But after a few pints, they start swearing at everything...

6. NATIONAL FAKE ILLNESS FOR GETTING MC (MEN): Food Poisoning.

7. NATIONAL FAKE ILLNESS FOR GETTING MC (WOMEN): Menstrual Pain.

8. NATIONAL EXCUSES GIVEN BY WOMEN WHEN REFUSING SEX: Headache, kids not asleep, maid not asleep, mother-in-law around, got early appointment, food not digested yet, aircon not cold enough, aircon too cold, nail polish not dried yet, forgot to take the pill, sleepy, stomach cramps, period, haven't remove make-up, haven't shower, no water supply, going to watch "Santa Barbara", depressed, no mood, etc.

9. NATIONAL EXCUSES GIVEN BY MEN WHEN REFUSING SEX: None. Asian men never refuse sex.

10. NATIONAL CURE FOR HEADACHES: Panadol. The "cure for all". If it fails, we have another secret weapon.....Tiger Balm.

11. NATIONAL CURE FOR DIZZINESS: Minyak Angin Cap Kapak (Axe oil).

12. NATIONAL CAUSE OF DIZZINESS (FOR YUPPIES): Happy Hours.

13. NATIONAL INSTANT CURE FOR DIZZINESS (FOR YUPPIES): The sight of a police road block.

14. NATIONAL RUBBISH DUMP: Anywhere. As long as it is not your house.

15. NATIONAL MOST MIS-PRONOUNCED NAME: Carrefour. Sometimes even pronounced as Carry 4! On second thought, why bother pronouncing Peugeot, Renault or Citroen correctly. I think it sounds better, when the local mechanics say "Pew Jeot". When I was in school, Milo was always Mee Lo, now that I'm sophisticated, I say "My Lo". So don't be embarrassed saying "Carry 4" when the Mat Sallehs shamelessly pronounce orang utan as "rangutan".

16. NATIONAL ROADSIDE DISTRACTION: TheBra-less Tourists. See how heads turn and traffic slows down or causes even tailback car accidents when a bra-less Mat Salleh backpacker goes bouncing about on the streets
