Lunar New Year

Rain is pouring spirits dampen forenight ago,
Stocked to the brim ready for shoppers,
Blimey weather ruined the business,
Only when the sun peeked out of the clouds,
Did smiles return to keeper's faces.

On the eve flurry commotion everywhere,
Food snatched shelves are empty,
Flowers twist and turn,
just to pick the right ones,
Patiently queueing in miles,
To get home with loved ones.

Break out the beers,
Don't fear the price,
For the happiness is contagious.
Toy with luck,
Clashing of tiles bright and loud,
Kick off the new year afresh,
Ang Pows here, Ang pows there
Beaming faces shouting,
Gong Xi Fa Cai
